The Hair & Care initiative is an incredible project that offers free haircare and styling workshops to low vision and blind people to improve independence and wellbeing.
The initiative is founded by award-winning session stylist Anna Cofone and was inspired by her father who was blind. Denman provides tools for workshop attendees and branded brushes for Hair & Care to retail for fundraising. It’s a small contribution to an amazing cause that makes an incredibly positive impact on the lives of a cohort that is often unseen and disconnected from the fashion and beauty industries.
Hair & Care collaborates with a network of volunteer hairstylists who work alongside Anna Cofone and the Hair & Care team during the workshops. Each volunteer has received specialised training to enhance their ability to assist their workshop attendees effectively and better support blind and low vision individuals with the use of guidance vocabulary and safeguarding.
