Terms and Conditions for College Star – Denman’s Big Blowout Competition
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the College Star – Denman’s Big Blowout Competition (“Competition”) organised by Denman International (“Organizer”). By entering this Competition, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
- The Competition is open only to individuals who are:
- Hairdressing students currently enrolled in an accredited hairdressing school or programme or a College of Higher Education in the United Kingdom.
- Legal residents of the United Kingdom.
- At least 16 years of age at the time of entry.
- Employees, agents, or affiliates of the Organiser and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
3. Competition Dates
- The Competition runs from February 17, 2025, at 12:00 AM GMT until March 21, 2025, at 11:59 PM GMT. Entries submitted before or after the Competition period will not be accepted.
4. How to Enter
- To enter the Competition, participants must:
- Upload four (4) high-quality photos of a blow-dry they have created. The images must be of the sides, back and front of one style.
- Provide a brief description of the blow-dry process, including the techniques, products and tools used.
- Submit their full contact details, including:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Hairdressing College name and location
- Name of their tutor or lecturer
- Complete and submit the entry form on the official Competition website (COMING SOON - College Star – Denman UK)
5. Submission Requirements
- Entries must meet the following criteria:
- Photos must be clear, well-lit, and properly represent the style in its final form.
- Descriptions must be detailed and demonstrate the student’s skill and knowledge.
- Any content that is inappropriate, offensive, or violates any laws will be disqualified.
6. Prizes
- The winner of the Competition will receive a £1000 cash prize. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged.
- The College Department of the student will receive a tool hamper worth £200 RRP.
- The tutor or lecturer of the winning student will receive a cash prize of £250.
- The tutor or lecturer whose students submit the most entries will receive a cash prize of £250.
- The prize will be awarded only if the winner meets all the entry requirements and eligibility criteria.
7. Judging Criteria
- Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Quality of the blow-dry (technical skills, creativity, and precision).
- Professionalism and originality of the blow-dry.
- Clarity and detail of the blow-dry process description.
- The judges’ decisions are final and binding. No correspondence can be entered into. Unfortunately, the Organiser cannot offer feedback.
8. Winner Notification
- The winner will be notified via email within 21 days of the end of the Competition period (by April 11, 2025).
- The winner must respond within 7 days of the notification to claim their prize. Failure to respond within this timeframe will result in disqualification, and an alternative winner will be selected.
9. Rights to Use of Submissions
- By entering the Competition, participants grant the Organiser the right to use their submitted photos and descriptions for marketing, promotional, and educational purposes in any medium, without compensation, for a period of two years from the date of the Competition.
10. Personal Data
- By entering the Competition, participants consent to the processing of their personal data by the Organiser in accordance with applicable privacy laws. This data will be used to communicate about the Competition and continue to inform about products and offers.
11. Disqualification
- Any entry that does not comply with the Competition rules or contains false or misleading information will be disqualified.
- The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any participant who engages in fraudulent activity or violates the spirit of the Competition.
12. General Terms
- The Organiser is not responsible for any technical issues, lost, delayed, or incomplete entries, or other issues that may prevent participation.
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or modify the Competition at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or any event beyond the Organiser’s control.
- The Organiser’s decisions are final and binding on all participants.
13. Limitation of Liability
- By entering this Competition, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Organiser and its affiliates from any liability, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Competition or the acceptance of the prize.
