For WORLD OCEANS DAY (8th June 2021) Denman want to take the time to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the ocean and everything it does for us.

Our oceans cover more than 70 per cent of the Earth’s surface and it is thought that between 70 and 80 per cent of the oxygen we breathe is produced by marine plants, nearly all of which are marine algae. It absorbs 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere and is responsible for regulating the climate by transporting the heat from the equator to the poles, and cold water from the poles to the tropics.
The ocean provides more than just seafood, which equates to 15.7% of the animal protein consumed globally. Humans have also traditionally used algae, seaweed and sea plants for preparing sushi etc.
Many medicinal products come from the ocean, including ingredients that help fight cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, and heart disease. The ocean is therapeutic. When we see, feel, hear, smell or taste water we are happy and at peace.
It provides millions of jobs and contributes several trillion pounds of goods and services to global economy annually. Plus it provides us with so much pleasure. From fishing to boating and kayaking to whale watching, the ocean provides us with many unique activities.
We are passionate about protecting our oceans and have in recent years eliminated all single use plastics from our product packaging.
